Amy-Kate is passionate about Industrial and Organisational (I/O) Psychology and feels lucky to have such a varied and interesting career. Dedicated to helping organisations become the best they can be, she believes in taking a customised approach with her clients and recognises that no two organisations are ever the same.
After securing a coveted graduate position at the OPRA Auckland office, Amy-Kate quickly learnt how to put the years of theory at University into practice. Having the opportunity to assist on a wide range of projects, she soon developed the capacity to lead a number of initiatives including Training Evaluations, Competency Framework Development and 360 Degree Surveys.
In early 2008, the big OE had lured Amy-Kate away from OPRA, however, shortly after leaving she met a lovely man and the trip was diverted to Christchurch. An opportunity arose for Amy-Kate to start up an HR Consulting offering for a local recruitment company and she jumped at the chance. During her time here she managed challenging projects including large-scale redundancy support, HR Audits, performance management development and strategic HR planning.
In December 2009 Amy-Kate’s partner secured a new position in Auckland, and thankfully, the timing worked out perfectly for her to return to OPRA. She rejoined the team as a Senior Consultant and her current role sees her primarily responsible for client relationships and project management in the upper North Island.
Amy-Kate has an MSc (Hons) in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management and Undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Communications. She is currently completing her registration as an Industrial & Organisational Psychologist.
The diversion to Christchurch was well worth it as Amy-Kate recently married her partner Saul! They currently live in Epsom where Amy-Kate enjoys entertaining friends over the odd glass of wine (cooking is not a strength) and utilising One Tree Hill as her local running track. She spends plenty of time adoring Mowgli – the beautiful dog she shares with Saul – and when she manages to find any extra time, thoroughly enjoys a good book.
